Dave Ryan, founder of CompensationGPS and a consultant to the Wilson Group is a Baltimore, Maryland based expert in executive and employee compensation with over 25 years of experience as both an internal and external compensation consultant. He advises Boards, company owners, and senior management on the design, implementation and governance of compensation programs.
Prior to joining Wilson Group, Dave ran his own compensation consulting firm, CompensationGPS, where he advised the Board Compensation Committees and led the executive and global compensation functions at Black & Decker and at Pitney Bowes. Dave started his career at Ernst & Young where he was responsible for compensation and benefits consulting services for the Connecticut area offices. At Ernst & Young he provided compensation and benefits consulting services to a broad range of public and private companies including manufacturing, high-tech, not-for-profit, financial services, energy, industrial and consumer products companies.
Dave writes about compensation management for the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA). His recent speaking engagements include presentations on compensation developments and best practices for Baltimore, Maryland area CPA firms and for the MACPA. He also recently served as a Visiting Instructor on compensation and benefits for Notre Dame of Maryland University.
Dave earned a JD at The Washington University in St. Louis School of Law and a BS in Accounting at the University of Connecticut. As a licensed Certified Public Accountant, he brings a unique blend of management, legal, tax, accounting, and consulting skills to each client engagement.
Dave actively supports the Baltimore, Maryland community and currently serves as the Board Chair of the Community Law Center.
