Independent Compensation Advisors members, D. G. McDermott Associates, the Wilson Group and Vivient Consulting, announce the roll-out of a new 2018 Executive Compensation Survey specifically designed for privately held, middle market companies in the U.S.

This 2018 executive compensation survey gives Board Compensation Committees the opportunity to compare executive compensation data and CEO pay in middle market private companies (those with annual revenues of $1 billion to less than $25 million in 2017 revenues) to their peers.

Private, middle market companies have traditionally not had reliable, unbiased sources for executive salary and incentives data that can help them benchmark their executive compensation plans against a cross-section of other companies. “Most of the scrutiny has been on executive compensation at Fortune 500 companies,” says Don McDermott, owner and principal of D.G. McDermott Associates, a Red Bank, NJ, management consulting firm. “The 2018 Middle Market Executive Compensation Survey is the first tailored for private companies who are considered ‘medium-sized.’ It will provide confidential, real-world comparisons to others in the market.”

The Private Company Compensation Survey includes 14 full-time executive positions including:

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Chief Operations Officer (COO)
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Chief Legal Officer
Chief Human Resource Officer
Chief Information Officer (CIO)
Chief International Officer
Chief Manufacturing Officer
Chief Sales Officer
Chief Marketing Officer
Chief Sales and Marketing Officer (combined)
Chief Supply Chain Officer
Chief Research & Development Officer
Strategic Business Unit – Sector Head

McDermott Associates, with consulting specialties in human resources and executive compensation, developed this survey in collaboration with the HR and compensation consulting firms Wilson Group and Vivient Consulting.

Compensation survey participation is free to private, middle market companies and all participants receive a complimentary executive summary of survey results. Participants can also order detailed compensation survey salary and incentive reports which include compensation benchmarks and comparisons to the overall market. Enrollment is open until April 15, 2018. Enroll here.
